RELEASING POWER (SUNDAY MORNING OF NOVEMBER 27, 2016)
Batteries have potential energy/power within them that gets released upon connection to something. The church is like this. We are filled with the power of the Holy Ghost, but we release this power by connection - to God, to one another, to people.
"...And he commanded the multitude to sit down on the grass, and took the five loaves, and the two fishes, and looking up to heaven, he blessed, and brake, and gave the loaves to his disciples, and the disciples to the multitude. And they did all eat, and were filled: and they took up the fragments and remained twelve baskets full. And they that had eaten were about five thousand men, beside women and children." (Matthew 14:14-21)
Release blessing to others, which means releasing the favor of God. Jesus was moved by compassion to do this. Let compassion be a motivator for you as well. Do as Jesus did. Have compassion. Bless - open up the storehouses of heaven to bestow its riches on others. Finally, give thanks because you have faith that God has provided.
This is the language of love and peace. We are the connection from heaven to man, like circuits. The power flows through us. Compassion/love, blessing, and thanksgiving are elements of faith that allow this power to flow freely.
"But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us." (2 Corinthians 4:7)
RECEIVE AND REFRESH (SUNDAY MORNING OF DECEMBER 4, 2016)
Do not just value what you can accomplish in the Lord's kingdom, but also value your time with the Lord. There are times to press in and push forward, but there are also times to rest and be still. Do not just always be giving and doing, for you sometimes need to receive and refresh.
When you put everything you have into something and pour all forth, then you need to allow yourself to be refilled so that you can continue to pour forth and share with others. Otherwise, you just burn out because you never refueled. This is what happens when you come to rely upon your own strength rather than that of the Lord. God also does not want you to have a victim mentality. You are not your issues, insecurities, or flaws.
"...But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin...If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." (1John 1:5-9)
TESTIMONY IS PROPHECY (SUNDAY MORNING OF DECEMBER 11, 2016)
The Holy Spirit will always proclaim Christ in the kingdom. If we do not perceive this, then we are not truly walking in the Spirit. Never allow circumstances to affect negatively your relationship with the Spirit. Always trust Him, and let your life represent that truth.
"And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said unto me, See thou do it not: I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy." (Revelation 19:10)
May we always proclaim the goodness of God, particularly to our fellow man. Let us proclaim Christ into the world. Just like Zacharias, the mouths of our brothers and sisters can be opened (Luke 1:5-25, 57-80). So let us pray for them, that they may know and speak the truth of Christ.
"As it is written in the book of the words of Esaias the prophet, saying, The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight. Every valley shall be filled, and every mountain and hill shall be brought low; and the crooked shall be made straight, and the rough ways shall be made smooth; and all flesh shall see the salvation of God." (Luke 3:4-6)
