CHRISTMAS MORNING OF 2016
"And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man." (Luke 2:52)
Are we fathering and mothering those who are here? We are a team of people making a unified effort, which will be multiplied. We all parent/mentor and nurture in different ways in the faith, but we all need to build a solid foundation and a loving foundation. People need to feel that the church is truly home, or they will fall away. We need to look at the outside world as the unborn who need to be saved and delivered.
"And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; for the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ..." (Ephesians 4:11-13)
MATURING IN THE CHURCH (SUNDAY MORNING OF JANUARY 8, 2017)
If you want to be part of this house, then be part of this house. Allow the Acts church to be a guide in your life. It is about both grace and maturity. It is about community. It is about holding fast to your faith. It is also about knowing that meekness is confidence not exercised in pride, but in humility.
"And they continued stedfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers...Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved." (Acts 2:42-47)
"For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins..." (Hebrews 10:26-29)
SCRIPTURES FOR SUNDAY MORNING OF FEBRUARY 5, 2017
"Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage...Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace...For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision availeth anything, nor uncircumcision, but faith which worketh by love." (Galatians 5:1-6)
"These six things doth the LORD hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him: a proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood: an heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief, a false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren." (Proverbs 6:16-19)
"...But we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience; and patience, experience; and experience, hope: And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us..." (Romans 5:1-11)
"But if ye bite and devour one another, take heed that ye be not consumed one of another. This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh. For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would..." (Galatians 5:15-24)
