Hey Well some of this is repeat from the prayer updates but i didnt know they were going to be put on here so here is my official update of March. God is so Good. (read more)
One Saturday afternoon Jennie-Joy and I (Jennie is Michele’s the Director assistant here) stopped in the hospital ward to pray for one of our little baby girls that was sick. When we got there, there was a group of Americans that have been doing medical work here with the locals. We found out when we went in that one of the children that they were treating had just died. We heard this was the 4th child that had passed away in that ward today. Wow, It was pretty overwhelming. Jennie and I prayed for our little girl and for the other small child that died that Jesus would raise her back up from the dead.
It was such a heavy atmosphere in the hospital ward. No wonder it was! There were over three babies that passed away here today. The rest of the evening I didn’t feel myself. I was thinking “the power that raised Christ from the dead lives in me and I didn’t see that child raised back up. I really need breakthrough here God”.
Well that next day I was still feeling a little heavy from the whole situation. I went out to meet a pastor in the town to go preach in his church that morning. But because of crazy rain and other thing I missed meeting him. It was ok though God wanted me to rest in Him and find my strength in Him this morning.
When I got back to the center I went into Michele’s house and was asking her about when we should go to the hospital to pray for the sick. I was standing there and I couldn’t even talk right. All of a sudden I realized that an angel of God was standing right next to me or over me. Michele was looking too, and said, “There is an angel standing there”. I was so overwhelmed by the presence of God I just laughed and laughed. I couldn’t do anything for a while.
That was the changing point for the rest of my day. Later we went to the hospital with Michele, Jennie and Edward. The joy of God was resting on us and that changed the atmosphere in the hospital. The same place that 4 babies died yesterday is the same one that the Lord shows up in with the Spirit of joy today.
We were able to love on so many people there. I connected with the people more then any other time that we had gone to pray here. I felt a peace and joy the whole time I was here. No sickness or heaviness was taking that away.
God touched people as His angels released healing and life in that place. The thing I remember the most is a mother who had a small child and a baby. Both were sick and had fevers. As we were praying for the older one I felt her body cool down right away. Right under my hand I could feel the change. She was no longer burning but her body had cooled down. How awesome is that! The little baby was sweating a lot as well because of the fever and that fever left her body too. Oh God is so good. Those weren’t the only healing that happened that day.
We got to pray for encounters and provision for a lot of people that were open and hungry for God. The Kingdom of God truly came into that hospital ward today.
On the morning of the 7th when I woke up and got out of my house (its still a tent but I made it homey for myself) I heard that last night about a mile or two away from where we were staying there was an LRA attack. The LRA stands for The Lords Resistance Army. They are a group from Uganda that have been terrorizing Uganda and now Sudan and Congo for over 20 years.
There haven’t been any LRA attacks here for over a year. So it was a real surprise to us all when we heard that. Quickly we got together and prayed. The base director and Jennie got back from town; they had talked to some of the leaders of the government in the area. It was said that they believe it was the LRA and that they did strike near our place but it was a very small group of no more then 9. They did kill a few people and abducted some more. There was a lot of fear welling up in the hearts of the kids. A lot of them have been around war and fighting since they were born. Now that there is relative peace here it’s hard to hear about the attacks like this and know what kind of suffering war and violence brings.
The Holy Spirit led us to not abandon the center and go into town for the night. We gathered together and released angels to stand around the perimeter of our land that no one who would want to attack could come this way.
We had our two guards watching the area as well with some of the older guys helping out. The guards were armed with bows and arrows as they watched the place.
That night some slept in peace others could not. But when we got up in the morning and saw that everything was well there was rejoicing. A new level of trust and confidence in God protection of His children was released in the kids here.
The following night as we gathered together to pray over our compound Holy Laughter and joy started breaking out in one of the younger guys. It just spread around the whole group. We laughed in the face of terror because we have joy and that joy comes from knowing that God and when we know God we know He is above all these things.
Lately Daddy God has been drawing me so close to Himself in an overwhelming way. In the midst of all these situations God is faithful. He doesn’t change. God spoke to me very strongly through his word in Eph 1: 20-23 and John 3:31, 35 (Read it if you can). Jesus is above all rule all authority and power. Al-Bachir the president in Sudan cannot stop the work of Jesus here the LRA cant over-power Jesus. My prayers as a son of God are going to my Father the one above all governments of the world. So my prayer of faith and yours as well have more power then the LRA have more power then corruption here have more power then AL-Bashir and all government authority here and all the war and hatred. The King of Kings and Lord of Lords cannot be stopped! HALLELUJAH!
Even right now the Lord is turning what the enemy meant for evil around. We have just accepted 3 new children into our Iris family. They are three beautiful children whose mother was brutally murdered by the LRA attack just miles from here. There is so much trauma for the kids to get through. The baby was on the mothers back as she was killed. The 3-year-old girl and her older brother both watched as this all took place. The three-year-old girl was beaten on the head with rocks on top of that. She wasn’t eating from that time till she got here. But since she got here she is now slowly eating and gaining some more balance as she stands. I know that God sent them here because they will be loved back to health emotional and physical. We have loved on them since they got here and they are even opening up more and more.
May you all continue to pray for the kids here especially these three. God is working here despite all the crazy things that I have shared with you. I can see how the power of Jesus is moving here and taking back ground that the enemy has stolen. There are so much testimonies of Gods work transforming people’s lives right in the middle of it all. I don’t have enough room to tell it all.
Most of what I have been doing here besides helping to build school building for our Primary School is pouring into the young man and older boys. God has really been working and feeding their hunger for more of Him. Right now I’m leading a Bible study with them and pouring myself into them so that they can be the ones to transform Sudan and the world. They are such precious guys. They will be the ones still leading and moving in revival long after I am gone from here.
Intimacy
